3.5.2020 Update on the Z Games and Coronavirus
With the Coronavirus on the minds of Zoroastrians across the globe, the ZAMWI Z Games Advisory Committee, ZAMWI Board, and FEZANA's Zoroastrian Sports Committee (ZSC) want to share this update on the Z Games 2020.
Be assured that the ZAMWI Z Games Advisory Committee and the ZSC are planning and preparing for the Z GAMES 2020 to be held at Coppin State University in July 1-5. The health and safety of all the Z GAMES participants, spectators, and volunteers is our number one concern, and we are following the instruction and guidance of health agencies regarding large community events, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as federal, state and local governments in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia Region, in particular.
We are monitoring this situation very closely, particularly as it relates to its impact on health, travel, Z GAMES attendance and best practices from around the globe. We are working in partnership with the organizing team at Coppin State University to ensure preventative public health measures on site, including hand sensitization stations throughout the venue and increased surface cleaning and sanitizing in competition and housing areas. These steps will help ensure a healthy and productive Z Games.
We have a fantastic Z GAMES planned and we look forward to seeing so many of you there, while continuing to work to ensure the health and safety of all participants and volunteers. Please keep in mind that we will fully refund anyone who has registered for the Games in the unlikely event that we must cancel.
For more information about the Z GAMES planning effort, please contact zgames2020@zamwi.org, or your local Z GAMES Ambassador. We also will continue to communicate with athletes and spectators and volunteers in the coming weeks as we get closer to the GAMES including via email, our Z GAMES website, and Instagram.
We encourage everyone to rely on credible information in making thoughtful decisions about whether or not to attend the Z GAMES. The following links provide extensive information about ways to prevent and manage the coronovirus.
